Rotary Botanical Gardens Announces Exciting Year of Nature, Art, and Family Learning Experiences Janesville, WI - Families are invited to explore, create, and discover together at Rotary Botanical Gardens as the Education Department unveils a full calendar of engaging children and family programs designed to spark curiosity and connection through nature, art, and hands-on learning. New this year is Once Upon a Garden, an imaginative early-learning series for children and their grown-ups that blends storytelling, movement, and creative activities inspired by the natural world. Young participants will listen to engaging stories and bring them to life through play and art in the Gardens. Families can also enjoy the return of Story n’ Stroll, combining literacy and outdoor exploration, and Me and My Big Classes, a special intergenerational series where children and their adults create side-by-side. Offerings include a butterfly tagging demonstration, ceramics projects with both large and small pieces, and collaborative paint-and-pour art experiences. Seasonal highlights include: • Earth Day Celebration – April 26: A day of hands-on environmental learning, crafts, and community partners focused on caring for our planet. • Story Walk Kickoff – June 24: Featuring this year’s garden story, Millie Fleur’s Poison Garden, families can stroll the paths while reading together in a beautiful outdoor setting. • Summer Art Camp (Ages 6–12): Multi-day creative camps filled with art, nature inspiration, and garden exploration. • Summer Water Adventure Day (Ages 9–12): A science-focused adventure exploring water ecosystems and outdoor discovery. • Garden Explorers Program for Community Organizations: Field trip experiences designed for youth groups and agencies, blending science, nature, and creativity. • Curiosity Camp: A Hands-On STEAM Summer Series: Interactive sessions for various ages exploring bubbles, plants, light and shadow, butterflies, and more through fun experiments and projects. “These programs are designed to bring families together while encouraging kids to explore the world around them,” said Kim Lewis, Education Specialist at Rotary Botanical Gardens. “We want every child to leave feeling creative, confident, and connected to nature.” For more information or to register, visit https://www.rotarybotanicalgardens.org/events.
