Back in May 1843, a massive group of nearly a thousand pioneers set off on the Oregon Trail, heading west into the unknown. It’s wild to think about the grit it took to pack up a life and move across the country like that. Walking through our Frontier Land exhibit, you really get a sense of that era. Standing next to our covered wagon and seeing tools from the Old West makes those history books feel a lot more real.
