Friendly reminder. Once a child's car seat has been in a crash, it may need to be replaced. A hard impact can weaken the structure and stop it from protecting a child in a future accident. NHTSA recommends replacing a car seat after a moderate or severe crash. The only time you might not need to is if the crash was minor. A minor crash is one in which ALL of the following apply: The vehicle could be driven away. The door closest to the car seat was not damaged. No one in the vehicle was injured. Airbags did not deploy. The car seat has no visible damage. Overall, remember safety comes first. If you are ever unsure, replace the seat. It is not worth the risk.
