RockBuzz Rockford's Post

Did you hear? Rockford is getting a little Hollywood baseball magic this summer. Several cast members from A League of Their Own are expected to come to the area during the 2026 AAGPBL Reunion, bringing even more excitement to a week that is already shaping up to be a big one for baseball fans. Rockford has a deep connection to the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, so it makes sense that this reunion would once again bring people back to a place that means so much to the league’s history and legacy. The reunion is expected to include time for former players, families, and fans to reconnect and celebrate that shared history. Fans will also have a chance to be part of it. Public ticketed events are expected to give people the opportunity to meet cast members, take photos, and get autographs while they are in town. The cast members expected to appear include Bitty Schram, Anne Ramsay, Tracy Reiner, Patti Pelton, Ann Cusack, Kelli Simpkins, Connie Pounds-Taylor, and Justin Scheller. Their visit is planned for July 23 and July 24, right in the middle of a huge stretch of baseball events happening in the area. That same week, the 2026 Women’s Baseball World Cup Group Stage will be played at Rivets Stadium in Loves Park from July 22 through July 27. Rockford is also set to host the nation’s largest girls' baseball tournament from July 19 through July 25. So if you love baseball, movie history, or just seeing Rockford get the spotlight, this is one summer update worth keeping on your radar. Remember, it is a good day to go local.
