RockBuzz Rockford's Reel
Northwest Community Center has been part of Rockford since 1948, but it is doing a lot more than simply providing a building or a place to hang out. 📍 1325 N. Johnston Avenue, Rockford, IL 61101 They serve children, teens, adults, seniors, and families with programs that include after-school support, summer camp, teen leadership and mentoring, workforce development, educational opportunities, community events, and space for local organizations and partners. One of the strongest parts of their story is the person leading it today. Their Executive Director grew up in the neighborhood, attended Northwest Community Center as a kid, and later returned to lead the same organization that helped shape her. That is the kind of impact a community center can have. It can give kids a safe place to go, help teens build confidence, give adults access to career support, and create a place where families can stay connected close to home. Northwest is also looking for continued community support through volunteers, program partners, event sponsors, donated supplies, and financial contributions. Remember, it is a great day to donate. #NorthwestCommunityCenter #RockfordIL #RockfordBuzz #SupportLocal #DonateLocal
